How to Play

Tamerlane Chess is a much larger and more complex strategy game than standard chess. With a 10x11 board, 28 pieces, and unique rules, it offers a deep strategic experience.

Board Layout

The game is played on a 10 rows × 11 columns board (a-k, 1-10). White's citadel is at a6, Black's citadel is at k5.

IMPORTANT: Citadel squares are at a6 for white and k5 for black. If your king reaches the opponent's citadel, the game ends in a draw.

Below you can see the starting positions of all pieces. Each player starts with 28 pieces arranged symmetrically.
